WELCOME TO THE YONKERS FAMILY YMCA

The Yonkers Family YMCA is committed to diversity & inclusion for all.

We are focused on uplifting our community through the positive development of our youth, promotion of healthy living and fulfilling our social responsibility.  We believe in social justice & are guided by a spiritual foundation. We work globally and locally for the overall success of our community. We work to achieve our mission by changing the lives of people, addressing the everyday challenges of health, poverty, and race

The Y accomplishes this for children, seniors, and families, by creating a safe environment, providing a place to play and grow, and ensuring many do not go to bed hungry.

Welcome to the Yonkers Family YMCA.

We’re part of a nonprofit organization of over 2,700 Ys located in 10,000 communities across the United States dedicated to strengthening the communities that they serve. With a focus on developing the potential of youth, improving individual health and well-being and giving back to and supporting communities, your participation brings about meaningful change not just within yourself, but also in your community.

Learn more about what makes us unique from other Ys and how we are serving our community in this video.

WHAT THE Y MEANS TO OUR COMMUNITY

"I love going to my local Y in Yonkers. It's affordable, nearby and convenient, and I can usually park right outside on the street. It's a real community, and folks seem to know and care about each other, and I love that. The staff are friendly and helpful.

It matters to me, as a person of color, that it's diverse - I see and meet all kinds of people there, all ages, all races, men and women. As I get older my body needs more attention, and using the fitness room at the Y regularly makes all the difference."

-Neem Dewji, Director of Yoga for Bliss
"The YMCA's kitchen was down during the holidays, and our facility was available.

The YMCA had certified cooks and we did not.

I am so glad we partnered to feed serveal hundred familied, what amazing staff & group of volunteers!

They have gone out of their way to serve quality & quantity."

-Major Mariabel Swires, Commanding Officer, The Salvation Army
"I am so proud of both the social work team and the outreach department.

They really show up and bring their best.

I can tell everyone has put a lot of work into growing the SNUG department.

-Crystol Devaney, Social Work Supervisor, NYS DCJS
"I come to the YMCA on a regular basis, not for myself - but for two families who live in the same complex that I live in.

I am amazed that they continue to serve such a large volume of people.

Somehow, with that being said they manage to make sure that the children and adults are all served with good, healthy items.

It is great to know that YMCA's do more than just wellness activities."

-Marietta Bussey, Food Program Participant

Meet Our Staff: Quamel Broadhurst, Health & Wellness Manager

Hello, my name is Quamel Broadhurst, and I’ve had the pleasure of serving as the Health and Wellness Manager at the Yonkers Family YMCA for the past two years. My connection to the YMCA runs deep, as my dad worked for the organization for over a decade. Inspired by his dedication, I decided to join the YMCA and be part of the positive change it brings to the community. Helping individuals achieve their fitness goals is truly my passion, and aligning myself with like-minded people here felt like the perfect fit. We are a cornerstone of the community, providing a safe space for individuals

Meet Our Staff: Rocio Prado, School Aged Child Care (SACC) Director

My journey begins in the Dominican Republic where I was born and lived until I was 3 years old. My parents and I immigrated to the United States when I was 3. As most immigrants do, my parents came to the United States looking for a better life for themselves and their new family. I lived in Rhode Island until 5th grade then moved to the fast paced state of New York. That was a learning experience as Rhode Island was such a calm paced place. Here I was able to graduate High School in 2007 and to be the first of
